To Do in Town
Zephyrhills is a great little town that has a lot going on all year long. Of course from November to April each year the population increases about four times over as the “Snowbirds” come down for the winter, and who can blame them! After all, Joyce and I were both northern transplants that just never went back! We have everything we could ever need within about 5-10 minutes of the house. Shopping, hospital, doctors, restaurants, and lots to do. So why would we leave? If we don’t feel like driving to the amusement parks, or the beaches, there are still pleanty of activities right here in town.
Zephyr Park - 38116 5th Ave, Zephyrhills, FL, 33542 - A relaxing place to sit and read under a sprawling old oak tree, or while away an afternoon with your pole in the lake, or taking a stroll around the lake on the walking path. Joyce and I especially love to go down on Sundays during snowbird season when there are jam sessions throughout the park all day long!
Zephyrhills Cinema 10 - 6848 Gall Blvd, Zephyrhills, FL 33542 - This is a great place to see a movie. We like to go before 6pm because they have matenees where everyone pays children’s price for tickets! They also have theaters with adult sized seating, which is great in a town that is geared to retirees!
Pin Chasers - 6816 Gall Blvd, Zephyrhills, FL 33542 - Our local Bowling alley.
Skydive City Zhills - 4241 Skydive Ln, Zephyrhills, FL 33541 - Wether you want to skydive, or just want to go out and spend the day watching other people do it, Skydive City in Zephyrhills is a great place to spend a day. Before you ask, Joyce and I have NOT jumped out of any plane parachute or no! But it is awful fun to watch other people do it!

Webster’s Flea Market - 516 NW 3rd St, Webster, FL 33597 - One of the area’s oldest and biggest flea markets. 35 acres of vendors selling everything under the sun! It is fun just to walk around and look for a day. But only on Monday’s!
Flatwoods Park - 14302 Morris Bridge Road, Thonotasassa, FL 33592 - This park boasts a 7 mile paved road for biking and skating, with water stations along the way perfect for the hot Florida climate. Joyce and I also love this park for the miles of hiking trails it has. We spent many long afternoons waking two rambunctious dogs over those trails, enjoying natural Florida.
Colt Creek State Park - 16000 SR 471, Lakeland, FL 33809 - This park sounds further away than it is. It is actually just outside of Zephyrhills, not really in Lakeland as the address suggests. It is a little known gem in our area, a very pretty state park with all the trimmings. They have water access for canoeing and fishing, trails for hiking, pavilions for grilling and eating, grassy areas for play and pleanty of trees for shade to just relax and take it all in. This is a great place to enjoy some natural Florida!
